American InfoSource was founded and is managed by industry leaders in information and financial services, who defined the standards for bankruptcy and public record data solutions.

Blake Hogan, President

Hogan is a recognized leader in the credit and collections industry, founding American InfoSource in 2000. Hogan has over 18 years of industry experience, creating Hogan Information Services in 1990, which compiled public record data for 8,000 courthouses across the country. He sold the company to First Data Corporation in 1996. While at First Data, he served on First Data Corporation's Management Committee, the Executive Committee of First Data Information Management Group and President of the Innovis.

Matt Sutherland, Chief Operating Officer

Sutherland worked side-by-side with Hogan as the former Vice President of Hogan Information Services. Over the last 18 years, he has been responsible for designing, building, and operating complex data systems. Sutherland has an in-depth knowledge of the United States bankruptcy courts and the systems they utilize. Sutherland received his Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma. As COO, he oversees the operations of American InfoSource in Oklahoma City and Houston.

Lawrence A. Friedman, General Counsel

Friedman is the former Director of the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees, serving in the position from March 2002 through April 30, 2005. Prior to his appointment as Director, Friedman engaged in private practice of law and served as a panel trustee in the Eastern District of Michigan, where he administered over 10,000 bankruptcy cases. At the time of his Justice Department appointment, he served as president of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. Friedman is the founder of the Regulatory Compliance and Government Affairs program at American InfoSource.

John McMickle, Government Affairs & Regulatory Compliance, Lobbyist

McMickle assists American InfoSource in monitoring state and federal legislative developments and provides strategic counsel on issues associated with bankruptcy rules, debt purchase and debt settlement. McMickle was a Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, playing an instrumental role in drafting the bankruptcy reform legislation enacted in 2005. He has authored various articles and legal manuals on bankruptcy issues, in addition to representing numerous financial services players in Washington, DC.  McMickle received a B.A. from the University of Tennessee in 1989 and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in 1994.

Kate Glenney, Controller

Glenney has logged over 20 years of accounting experience for both small and medium-sized, privately owned businesses. Glenney has a proven track record when it comes to handling finances and billing for American InfoSource’s largest clients which include three Top 5 banks.

Chris Mokris, Vice President of Recoveries, Collections and Debt Settlement

Mokris joined American InfoSource in July 2011.  Over the last 15 years he has held numerous Credit, Collections and Recovery positions at Bank of America and MBNA.  Prior to entering into the financial sector, Mokris was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. Mokris has an in depth knowledge of Estate Account Servicing and the nuances within the Estate Recovery business.  His expertise in team building, goal oriented nature and process design have defined his career.  Most recently he has held senior leadership positions managing Estate, Internal Recovery and the Debt Settlement business.  Mokris is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy.

Larque Piatt, Vice President of Human Resources

Piatt oversees the provision of HR services, policies and programs for the entire organization. In addition to managing compensation and benefits administration, she is also responsible for recruiting and staffing new AIS associates. Before joining American InfoSource in 2004, Piatt held similar roles at Hogan Information Services and the Journal Record Publishing Co.

Barbara Ross, Chief Information Officer

With 15 years experience at Fortune 500 companies, Ross has held numerous technical roles including Executive Leadership, Programming, and Project Management.  As the CIO at American InfoSource, her expertise plays a pivotal role in managing the Technical Development, Technical Analytics, Information and Financial Analytics, Auditing, and Data Production teams. Her focus on best in class process and product design, coupled with her strong team oriented approach, enables Ross to develop and manage state-of- the-art technical solutions for Bankruptcy, Probate, and Recoveries. Ross holds a bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Danen Shiek, Vice President Business Development

Shiek has extensive experience and knowledge in collections and recovery strategies, portfolio analysis and interpretation, bankruptcy compliance and liquidation strategies, and portfolio purchase and sales. Prior to joining American InfoSource, Mr. Shiek served as Chief Operating Officer at B-Line LLC. In 1989, he founded Vativ Recovery Solutions, a large national legal collection service with a focus on bankrupt and deceased account recovery.  He expanded the company through the introduction of portfolio analysis, acquisitions and sales and developed relationships with many of the top issuers in the country.  Vativ was sold to Asta Funding in 2006 and Shiek continued to preside over the subsidiary for 3 years during a very successful transition.

Noel Bouteller, Director of Information Technology Services

Bouteller came to American InfoSource in 2005 and has spent 19+ years operating within the IT sector. At American InfoSource, Bouteller is responsible for managing infrastructure, information security and IT compliance.

John Davis, Data Production & Analytics Manager

Davis joined the American InfoSource team in 2005 and has 13+ years experience in the IT sector.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Central Oklahoma. Davis plays an important role in several aspects of the organization, including quality assurance and testing, design and implementation of internal systems, product development, and project management.

Ron Mantel, Data Warehouse Manager

Mantel has over 20 years of database development and design experience and more than 10 years of database administration.  Prior to joining the team in May of 2004, Mantel held the position of Assistant Director of Information Technology for the United States Bankruptcy Court – Oklahoma Western district.  In addition to his database administration responsibilities, he has developed several proprietary processes that have allowed AIS to diversify its product line.

Jon McCleskey, Director of Recovery

Over the last 20 years, McCleskey has successfully managed, motivated and led high-impact teams in all aspects of collections and recoveries including medical, retail, commercial, oil & gas, telecommunication, cable, and municipalities. McCleskey directs the recovery team for AIS Recovery Solutions, overseeing the deceased account management process and working with executors, attorneys and decedent family members.

Penn Shaper, Vice President of Strategic Accounts

Shaper has built and managed sales teams in the financial services and software industries.  He has successfully lead teams focused on both in-person and telesales. His hands-on-style helps elevate the skills and accomplishments of each person he manages in order to attain aggressive sales targets. Past experience includes PreCash Corporation and BindView Development Corporation.  He has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from The McCombs School at The University of Texas at Austin.

Craig Smith, Director of Probate Services

Smith has over 35 years experience in the risk management and public records industries.  Before joining American InfoSource in 2007, Smith was Director of Civil Data Acquisition for the nation’s largest public records company, originally founded by Blake Hogan.  As Director of Probate Services, Smith is responsible for the probate data compilation, claims management and probate payment processing functions.

Karla Sutherland, Vice President of Bankruptcy Services

Sutherland came to American InfoSource in 1992, after holding previous positions at TransUnion and Equifax. Her expertise in data compilation and data quality is a byproduct of her 18 years in the public record industry. As Director of Bankruptcy Services, she oversees data compilation, claims management, mail, and payment processing functions.

Brian Welch, Director of Marketing

Welch leads the creation and execution of all marketing and communication functions for both current and potential American InfoSource clients. He is accomplished in prospect acquisition strategies, creative development, and campaign execution within B2B and B2C channels. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin.

Calvin Williams, Vice President of Sales

Williams is a sales leader at the executive level who has built and managed sales teams in the financial services industry his whole career.  His experience includes working for JP Morgan Chase, First Data Corporation and Precash Corporation.  Williams’ success is based upon focusing team members through training and goal setting to meet and exceed client expectations.
